Forward Ty Cheveldayoff is a native of Stone Plain, Alberta. Cheveldayoff joined the Maine Mariners in the 2023-24 season, where he played in two regular-season games, followed by seven playoff games. After playing with the Jacksonville Icemen in the 2024-25 ECHL season, Cheveldayoff returned to the Mariners for the 2025-26 season.
Now, Cheveldayoff, 23, has committed to play for the Bowling Green Falcons in Bowling Green, Ohio. New England regional scout Robert Chalmers made the tweet earlier today regarding Cheveldayoff’s commitment to Bowling Green.
Cheveldayoff never got to play in either the National Hockey League or the American Hockey League. Cheveldayoff’s best season wasn’t in Maine, but his lone season in Jacksonville, when he recorded 19 points. This past season, Cheveldayoff returned to Maine, but it was a struggle. In 34 games, Cheveldayoff recorded nine points for the Mariners.
Including his previous tenure from the 2023-24 season, Cheveldayoff recorded ten points in 36 combined games as a Mariner. In his ECHL career, Cheveldayoff recorded 29 points in 102 games. In three ECHL seasons, Cheveldayoff struggled, recording two points in 18 career Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Cheveldayoff’s biggest moment with the Mariners happened during Game 3 of the 2026 North Division Semifinals when he scored the only ECHL playoff goal of his career to give the Mariners a 2-0 lead against the Adirondack Thunder from a pass from forward Linus Hemstrom. Cheveldayoff recorded zero points for the rest of the 2026 playoffs for the Mariners.
