The long wait is finally over. Well, kind of. The Boston Bruins are still a few weeks away from starting the 2026-2027 National Hockey League season, but some of their younger players in Europe have gotten their campaigns underway. So, how did they do this week?
Europe
Nils Bartholdsson this week for Rogle BK (Champions Hockey League): One game played, no points, no penalties, Even Plus/Minus.
Bartholdsson played 10:22 for Rogle’s SHL team against Czech team HC Dynamo Pardubice in the Champions Hockey League, where he had a shot on goal. Rogle lost 1-0 and is 0-2 in the Champions Hockey League, having yet to score a goal in the competition.
Matvei Kotkov this week for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (KHL): One game played, one goal, no penalties, +1 rating.
Kotkov made his KHL debut on Saturday, scoring a goal and recording two shots in 9:26 of ice time. The Yekaterinburg, Russia, native picked up where he left off last season, after finishing last year on a high, winning both the MHL’s Kharlamov Cup, and Playoff MVP.
Oscar Olsson this week for Orebro HK U20 (U20 Nationell): Two games played, no points, four penalty minutes, -1 rating.
Olsson was kept off the scoresheet this week, as Orebro split a two-game set, dropping a 3-2 decision to Linkoping on Friday, before beating Sodertalje 4-2 on Saturday.
Liam Pettersson this week for Djurgardens IF U20 (U20 Nationell): Two games played, no points, no penalties, +2 rating.
Pettersson helped Djurgardens to two wins this week, as they beat Sollentuna HC 6-2 on Saturday, and then shut out AIK 3-0 today. Look for him to get some games in the SHL once that league starts play again.
Kirill Yemelyanov this week for Loko Yaroslavl (MHL): One game played, no points, no penalties, -1 rating.
Yemelyanov is wearing an “A” this season for Loko, who beat Avto 3-1 this morning in their MHL opener. I thought Yemelyanov might start the season in the KHL after a strong preseason, but he’s back in the MHL at least for now.
