The Boston Bruins announced today that they have re-signed defenseman Jakub Zboril to a two-year, one-way contract worth $725,000. The team also signed goaltender Callum Booth, and forward Greg McKegg to one-year, two-way contracts, both with a cap hit of $700,000.

Zboril has played three seasons with the Providence Bruins and two games with Boston, both in 2018. He did not record a point with Boston and scored 19 points in each of his seasons in the AHL. The 23-year-old was drafted 13th overall by the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Draft. Up until he was re-signed, Zboril had been on loan to Brno of the Czech Extraliga.

Booth most recently played for the Atlanta Gladiators, Boston’s ECHL affiliate, during the 2019-20 season. He posted a .911 save percentage and a 3.22 goals-against average in nine games with Atlanta. The 23-year-old goaltender was drafted 93rd overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL Draft and appeared in 15 AHL games, all with the Charlotte Checkers.

McKegg was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL Draft and appeared in 185 NHL games. Last season, he played for the New York Rangers, recording five goals and four assists in 53 games. He scored a career-best 11 points in 2018-19 with the Hurricanes.

Booth will likely play in the ECHL this season, considering the other goaltenders in the Bruins’ system, but may fill in if an injury arises. McKegg’s two-way contract suggests he will put in reps in Providence, but he could take on bottom-six duties in Boston as well. Zboril will be fighting for a roster spot this upcoming season.
