Boston Bruins prospect and Hockey East Boston College Eagles forward Trevor Kuntar added two goals in a 9-0 thumping of Providence College on the road at the Schneider Arena in Providence, Rhode Island. This was the second game in as many nights, and the Eagles shut out the back-to-back games outscoring the Friars 12-0 in the weekend action.

Kuntar, a 6′-0″ 203-pound center/left-winger, had a decent three-year career in the United States Hockey League with the Youngstown Phantoms before entering his freshman year this season with BC. With Youngstown In the USHL, Trevor posted 49-44-93 totals in 148 games, and as a player with tenure in the top-tier Junior league in the U.S., he’s clearly ready for his next step in his young development.

After a rough first game, which seemed like he needed to shake off a little rust, the next three games, you could definitely see a comfort level and ability to see read the ice better leading up to tonight’s huge road victory. The third-round selection of the Bruins recorded his first career NCAA point in the 6-3 win over the University of Massachusetts Minutemen when he got an assist in the second period at the 12:44 minute mark on the eventual game-winning goal.

Trevors first career NCAA goal came in the second period of last night’s 3-0 win over the Providence club, and his first multi-point game was during this evening’s beatdown of the Friars. So adding everything up, Kuntar has 3-1-4 numbers playing on the third line left-wing and has certainly done what’s asked of him as a freshman in Boston. The Eagles are an absolute wagon this season with a 4-0 record outscoring opponents 22-6. a ton of credit has to go to the last line of defense with an honorable mention of Eagles netminder Spencer Knight. The goaltending prospect of the Florida Panthers blanked Providence twice in the past two nights increases his record to 4-0 with a very stingy 1.50 goals-against-average and .955 save percentage.

The last two games of the 2020 calendar year for Bruins prospect Kuntar and his Eagles brethren are set for Friday night, December 11th, 2020, at home against the Connecticut Huskies, then on the road the following night Saturday, December 12th, 2020, at Connecticut. After that, Boston College returns on January 8th, 2021, to start a back-to-back series against the Northeastern Huskies.
