Entering this week, aside from the games on the Boston Bruins’ regular-season schedule, B’s fans had their eyes set on one game in particular. Boston College hosted the University of Maine on Friday night, with the loser being eliminated from NCAA Tournament contention. It’s been widely speculated that top prospect James Hagens will sign his Entry-Level Contract once the Eagles’ season concludes, and a loss would’ve done just that. So how did the Eagles and the rest of the Bruins’ Prospect Pool do this week?

Europe

Vashek Blanar this week for HV71 U20 (U20 Nationell Relegation): Two games played, no points, no penalties, +2 rating.

Blanar didn’t have any points or penalties this weekend, but more importantly he was part of two crucial wins for HV71 in the relegation round of the U20 Nationell.

Kirill Yemelyanov this week for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (MHL): One game played, one assist, no penalties, +1 rating.

Juniors

Cole Chandler this week for the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL): Two games played, one assist, two penalty minutes, -1 rating.

Cooper Simpson this week for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL): Two games played, no points, two penalty minutes, Even Plus/Minus.

Simpson has hit a bit of a rough patch production wise of late. After producing at well over a point-per-game pace for the majority of the season, he has not registered a point in his last five games.

NCAA

Andre Gasseau this week for Boston College (Hockey East): One game played, no points, no penalties, +1 rating.

Elliott Groenewold this week for Quinnipiac University (ECAC): Two games played, no points, two penalty minutes, +1 rating.

Quinnipiac was swept out of the first round of the ECAC Playoffs by Clarkson. The Bobcats will still earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament however.

James Hagens this week for Boston College (Hockey East): One game played, two goals, one assist, no penalties, +3 rating.

Hagens made sure that #HagensWatch continued, with a multi-goal game, his first since 2/20 against UConn. The Eagles beat Maine 5-0, and will face UConn in the Hockey East Semifinals on Friday night at the Garden. A win will see them advance to the Championship game the following night, a loss will end their season.

Beckett Hendrickson this week for the University of Minnesota (Big Ten): One game played, one assist, no penalties, +1 rating.

Despite registering an assist, Hendrickson’s season ended on Wednesday with a 6-2 loss to Penn State in the Big Ten Playoffs.

Oskar Jellvik this week for Boston College (Hockey East): One game played, one goal, no penalties, +1 rating.

Jellvik’s second goal of the season came at a great time for the Eagles, padding their multi-goal lead. BC will need him to deliver offensively here and there in order to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Kristian Kostadinski this week for Boston College (Hockey East): One game played, one assist, no penalties, +3 rating.

Kostadinski picked up a secondary assist on Hagens’ second goal, his third point of the season, and his first since 1/23 against UNH.

Mason Langenbrunner this week for Harvard University (ECAC): Three games played, no points, two penalty minutes, +1 rating.

Langenbrunner’s Collegiate career is over, after Harvard lost in the ECAC Quarterfinals to Cornell this past weekend. The Dallas, Texas, native finished a four-year career at Harvard with nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points in 130 career games. The next step in his career is not yet known.

Dean Letourneau this week for Boston College (Hockey East): One game played, one goal, one assist, no penalties, +3 rating.

Letourneau was relatively quiet for most of the contest, but added an empty net goal and an assist in the dying minutes of the game, and played 19:23 against Maine.

William Moore this week for Boston College (Hockey East): One game played, no points, no penalties, Even Plus/Minus.

Jonathan Morello this week for Boston University (Hockey East): Two games played, no points, no penalties, -1 rating.

BU survived an early scare against Vermont to advance to the Quarterfinals, but fell in a back-and-forth contest against UCONN, ending their season. Morello finished his freshman season with the Terriers with six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 36 games.

Chris Pelosi this week for Quinnipiac University (ECAC): Two games played, one assist, no penalties, -1 rating.

Pelosi had an assist in Game Two of the ECAC Quarterfinals, but it wasn’t enough to keep Quinnipiac alive in the series, as Clarkson won 4-3.

Cole Spicer this week for Western Michigan University (NCHC): One game played, no points, two penalty minutes, -1 rating.

Western Michigan lost 2-1 to Denver in overtime of the NCHC Semifinals. They will still get a bid to the NCAA’s.

Ryan Walsh this week for Cornell University (ECAC): Three games played, one goal, three assists, no penalties, +2 rating.

Walsh played a huge part in Cornell’s come-from-behind series win over Harvard, helping them advance to Lake Placid. Cornell will be in the NCAA tournament regardless of how they do in the remainder of the ECAC playoffs.

Will Zellers this week for the University of North Dakota (NCHC): One game played, no points, no penalties, -2 rating.

Zellers had a quiet night as UND lost 5-1 to Minnesota-Duluth in the NCHC Semifinals. North Dakota will still be in the NCAA Tournament regardless.

Providence and Maine

The Providence Bruins went 2-1-0 this week, beating Springfield 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday. Newcomer Lukas Reichel scored the overtime winner, his first as a member of the B’s organization. The P-Bruins blew out Hartford 7-0 on Saturday, thanks in part to a hat-trick from Ty Gallagher. Finally, they dropped Sunday’s rematch against Springfield 4-3. Simon Zajicek stopped 24/27 shots in his first game action since January 2nd after a lengthy injury.

Providence also finalized a trade before the AHL Trade Deadline. The P-Bruins acquired forward Navrin Mutter from the Milwaukee Admirals in exchange for forwards Dalton Bancroft and Massimo Rizzo. Rizzo appeared in one game with the P-Bruins after being acquired from the Flyers, while Bancroft appeared in 34 games with Providence and had a goal and an assist.

Meanwhile, the Maine Mariners went 2-1-0 this week, beating the Adirondack Thunder 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday. Maine then dropped Friday’s game against the Norfolk Admirals 4-1, before bouncing back the next night with a 3-2 overtime victory.
