The Boston Bruins announced earlier today that they reached a deal with forward Jesper Froden to a one-year contract with an NHL cap hit of $842,500. Froden, 26, was recently awarded the Swedish Elite League Rookie of the Year award, scoring 22 goals and 40 points in 52 games played this season.

With Cassidy getting fined earlier today, the Department of Player Safety followed up with a $5,000 fine on Boston Bruins’ Nick Ritchie. This looked questionable during the play, but the ref’s arms stayed down despite Scott Mayfield’s opinion on the hit.

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Tuesday that Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking New York Islanders’ defender Scott Mayfield. The trade deadline may have passed, but the Boston Bruins are not done with their transactions. General manager Don Sweeney announced Monday morning that the team has signed defenseman Brady Lyle to an entry-level contract. The deal is worth a cap hit of $800,000 over two years.
