The 36-year-old veteran NHL defenseman, Johnny Boychuk, is officially hanging up the skates due to an eye injury he received during the 2019-2020 season. The New York Islanders announced his retirement on Wednesday.

The Boston Bruins have reportedly loaned goaltending prospect Dan Vladar to HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga, according to the team’s website and as first reported by Mark Divver. Vladar becomes the latest prospect to be loaned overseas as teams wait for a return to play for both the NHL and AHL.
