The Bruins traded down from the 69th overall selection. The team added picks #79 and #108. With the 79th selection, the Bruins add Minnesota-native Cooper Simpson. Simpson played nine games with the Tri-City Storm, scoring seven goals, and added 49 goals with Shakopee High (MN) during their 31-game campaign. He is committed to the University of North Dakota next season.

The left winger stands at 6’1” and weighs 179 lbs. He is described as an explosive skater who can execute in all areas of the ice. According to EliteProspects, Simpson was ranked #71 on their draft board and #74 amongst North American skaters according to NHL Central Scouting.

Simpson will join Bruins prospect Will Zellers at the University of North Dakota next season, giving fans another college hockey team to get behind. Simpson joins James Hagens, William Moore, and Liam Pettersson as members of the Bruins’ 2025 draft class. The Bruins have four picks left in this draft, holding the 100th, 108th, 133rd, and 165th selections.
