With their second draft pick of the second round, the Boston Bruins select defenseman Liam Pettersson with the 61st overall pick. Pettersson, hailing from Gislaved, Sweden, joins the Bruins organization after spending the last four years with the Växjö Lakers youth teams.

According to NHL Central Scouting, Pettersson was ranked 28th among International Skaters. He is praised for his skating mobility, speed, and puck-handling. Last season, Pettersson scored six goals and 15 assists for Växjö J20, finishing the season with a -5. Pettersson—a left-handed defenseman—is 6’2” and weighs 170 lbs.

The Bruins wrap up the second round with Pettersson and turn their attention to the four remaining picks, with the 79th selection now coming next. The Bruins acquired this pick from the Colorado Avalanche at the 2025 Trade Deadline. In exchange for Charlie Coyle and a fifth-round pick, the Bruins received Casey Mittelstadt, prospect Will Zellers, and this pick.
