College Hockey finally returned this weekend, with several Boston Bruins prospects in action. Several players stood out, but perhaps the most noteworthy individual performance was that of Dean Letourneau, who recorded a hat trick in a 10-1 exhibition win over the United States National Team Development Program. Unfortunately, that won’t count towards his stat line, but still a good sign nonetheless. So how did the rest of the Bruins’ prospect pool do this week?

CHL

Cole Chandler this week for the Cape Breton Eagles (QMJHL): Two games played, no points, two penalty minutes, -1 rating.

Chandler was a -2 on Friday in a 4-3 shootout loss against Saint John, and had a roughing penalty and was +1 on Sunday in a 4-2 win over Moncton.

Jacob Vandeven this week for the London Knights (OHL): Two games played, no points, no penalties, +1 rating.

Vandeven is still looking for his first point of the OHL season. He was a +1 on Friday in a 4-1 win over North Bay and was even in a 7-2 loss to the Flint Firebirds.

Europe

Nils Bartholdsson this week for Rogle BK (SHL): Two games played, no points, no penalties, Even Plus/Minus.

Bartholdsson played 7:59 in Rogle’s 4-1 win over Timra, and 5:23 in their 3-2 loss to Vaxjo. He’s still looking for his first SHL point.

Vashek Blanar this week for HV71 U20 (U20 Nationell) One game played, one goal, one assist, no penalties, +1 rating.

Blanar dressed in two SHL games for HV71 but did not see any ice time. He had a goal and an assist on Sunday in a 4-3 win over BIK Karlskoga’s U20 team, his first goal of the season.

Yuri Ivanov this week for MHK Spartak-MAH Moskva (MHL): One game played, .895% save percentage, four goals allowed, 0-1-0 record.

Yuri Ivanov this week for MHK Spartak Moskva (MHL) Two games played, 0.982% save percentage, one goal allowed, 0-1-0 record.

Ivanov might be the unluckiest goaltender on the planet right now. On Tuesday, he stopped 34/38 shots in a 4-1 loss to Loko with Spartak’s second Junior team. On Friday, he entered in relief against Amurskie Tigry Khabarovsk and stopped 24/24 in a 4-3 loss. Finally, on Sunday, he stopped 31/32 shots in a 1-0 loss to Sakhalinskiye Akuly. He has a .974% save percentage for Spartak’s top team and a 0.72 Goals-Against-Average and has not won a game. How does that even happen?

Matvei Kotkov this week for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (KHL): Two games played, no points, no penalties, -1 rating.

Kotkov played 10:56 on Wednesday in a 3-1 win over Sibir Novosibirsk, where he had two shots on goal. He was a -1 on Saturday in a 4-3 loss to Minsk, playing 11:02.

Liam Pettersson this week for Djurgårdens IF (SHL): Two games played, no points, no penalties, +1 rating.

Pettersson played a season-high 16:02 in a 4-0 loss to Farjestad on Thursday and 6:39 in a 4-2 loss to Frolunda on Saturday, where he was +1. He’s still looking for his first career SHL point.

Kirill Yemelyanov this week for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (KHL): One game played, no points, no penalties, Even Plus/Minus.

Yemelyanov saw his first KHL action, logging 0:52 of ice time in Lokomotiv’s 4-3 loss to Minsk on Saturday.

NCAA

He added two more helpers the next night in a 6-3 win over Merrimack, where he also had five shots on goal in 22:10.

Providence Update

The Providence Bruins lost both games this weekend in their return to AHL play. Brendan Gaunce scored the P-Bruins’ lone goal of the weekend in Friday’s 2-1 loss to the Utica Comets.
