Throughout the course of a season, every team faces adversity in a variety of ways. For the Bruins, their depth has already been tested. Both Charlie McAvoy and veteran defenseman Kevin Miller are currently on the injured reserve. Torey Krug missed the first eleven games of the season before returning last night. As a result, Matt … Keep Reading

The Gladiators return from their weekend on the road with a point after a 3-2 overtime defeat to the Jacksonville Icemen and a frustrating 4-3 loss to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The Week Ahead: Bruins Face Two Worthy Opponents

By: Mandi Mahoney  |  Follow Me On Twitter @phoneymahoney

Since opening the season with an appalling 7-0 loss to the Stanley Cup Champion Capitals, the Bruins have gone 6-3-1 in the next ten games. It’s not a particularly impressive record, though, when it is taken into consideration that they’ve played mostly bottom-feeding teams, including Buffalo, Ottawa, Vancouver, and two games against Edmonton, one of which was an overtime loss.

That’s … Keep Reading

A 7-0 loss on Opening Night isn’t ideal. A game in which no positives come out of it isn’t ideal. Despite a 7-0 beatdown, it was Opening Night and sometimes we as Bruins fans know that the start of some seasons doesn’t always go according to plan. The reason I’ve mentioned Opening Night is that this … Keep Reading

Bruins Should Rely On Halak, Give Rask a Rest

By: Mandi Mahoney  |  Follow Me On Twitter @phoneymahoney

Despite some ugly performances of late, the Bruins are in a fortunate position where goaltending is concerned. Tuukka Rask has been anywhere from average to among the league’s best since becoming the Bruins’ starter, and Jaroslav Halak is a more than capable backup.

Since taking the reins as the Bruins’ number one goaltender after the 2011-12 season, Tuukka Rask has been … Keep Reading

Whether it’s a less than stellar season-ending injury or missing an empty-netter, Brandon Carlo seems to have some strange, bad luck with the Bruins.  It’s no secret that while having a big body like Carlo is a great asset for Boston’s defense, he still has some adjustments to make. Having missed two postseason runs … Keep Reading

The Boston Bruins have 14 points through 11 games this season and are hovering near the top of the Eastern Conference. They’ve gotten incredible production from their top line, have been capitalizing on the power-play, and have given up the third fewest goals per game in the league. Being stingy with goals allowed isn’t anything new for … Keep Reading
